Hello!
I’m Pily Prado, illustrator and graphic designer.
Born and raised in Mexico, now drawing ghosts (and everything else) from Spain.
My work lives somewhere between memory, loss, and the mystical.
I grew up surrounded by stories (real ones) about people who disappeared and the silence they left behind.
Those stories never really left me.
Now, they show up in what I draw.
The characters in my illustrations often come from real people:
The missing, the gone, the never-found.
I draw them as I imagine they would want to be remembered,
through their favorite colors, their silly clothes, their little gestures.
It’s not about recreating them exactly.
It’s about making space for them to still exist, somewhere.
With every piece, I try to hold memory gently.
To make room for both grief and joy.
And maybe, just maybe to turn a bit of absence into beauty.
My work is a small tribute to the lives behind the statistics to the faces we don’t see on the news anymore.
Through every illustration, I try to hold their memory with care, to remind us that behind every number, there’s a story that deserves to be remembered.
Part of what I earn goes to organizations that search for the missing.
If you’d like to support them directly, I’ve left their links below.
They do real work.
Thank you for helping them and seeing them.
